Chunky Sneaker Trend

This week, Long Island had one of the last warm days before Fall will fully hit. I wanted to take advantage, and spend sunset near the water. I drove out to Sea Cliff – which was beautiful. It was both a great drive and a great destination. I feel very lucky to live somewhere that makes it possible to visit the beach in just a half hour.

I created this outfit to celebrate the last warm day. I decided to wear shorts while the opportunity was there – although I may have overestimated the warmth. Over quarantine, I ordered these shorts from PacSun. They quickly became one of my favorite pairs. My tank top is from Urban Outfitters. This sweater is one of my favorite thrifted items. I purchased it from the Buffalo Exchange in New York City – one of my favorite thrift stores. This shop has specially curated clothing that is all on-trend. It is super easy to find amazing pieces here.

As you can see in this photo, my sweater has pink cheetah print. I decided to include this bold color and print to the outfit, because it was mostly colorless otherwise. Similarly, I put added eyeshadow that consisted of bright blue and pink – to add another pop of color to the look. I love putting together outfits that include a bright element of hot pink, but are mostly white and block besides that.

These shoes are from Pretty Little Thing. I paired them with white long socks because that is a trend that I’ve noticed in recent times. These chunky sneakers themselves are a very popular item right now. I was very excited to follow this trend, as I’ve found it especially cute for some time now.

There have been numerous celebrities seen stepping out in white chunky sneakers. Many of which, are considered current fashion icons.

In this photo, Bella Hadid is following the same trend.

I personally love this trend because it’s both comfortable and cute. If you are wearing something a bit dressy, you can dress it down by adding the trendy look of white socks and chunky sneakers. Additionally, chunky sneakers in general are trendy. I have a pair in pink as well. The white ones are simply the most popular at this time. I am excited to see how this trend will expand.
